Murphy's Law states that anything that can go wrong will go wrong. And the addendum to that is that it will go wrong at the most inopportune time. No one plans on having a dental emergency. Like all other emergencies, they just happen when they happen, usually at a most inconvenient time. At Timber Springs Dental, we do our best to get you seen and treated promptly. We extend caring compassionate general dentistry to all our patients. We understand that when you are experiencing a dental emergency you are often experiencing anxiety and possibly may be in pain. Our staff members are trained to help calm your unease while we work to address the issue.
There are serious dental emergencies such as the trauma of getting a tooth knocked out at a Little League game. Not all are that dramatic, for example, losing a filling or breaking a denture. The immediate pain and discomfort may not be there, but the anxiety is. In fact, losing a filling is one of the most common emergencies.
Another is when a crown or cap disengages from the tooth. When this happens, assuming that the piece was not swallowed, bring it with you when you come to the office to be seen. Most of the time it is just a matter of cleaning the tooth and the crown or cap and cementing it back on to the tooth.
When it is a toothache that brings you to the dental office, you may have a problem that is rather involved. Dr. Linger will examine the area and find out exactly what is causing the pain and consult with you on how to remedy it. Your comfort and pain reduction is the most important thing at this juncture.
